FIVE lambs have been killed in a barn fire near Burnham-on-Sea.
Firefighters were called out the blaze at a farm on Harp Road in the village of Mark in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, January 28).
There were three fire engines from Burnham and Taunton and a water carrier from Bridgwater called to the scene at 5.11am and the crews found the fire was affecting the front of the barn.
They quickly doused the flames using a hose reel jet and used acro props to stabilise the building.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "The fire was confirmed out at 6.11am, sadly five lambs died in the fire. Duty of care was left with the farmer."
