TEMPORARY changes to roads in Burnham-on-Sea town centre are set to come into effect from next week.
From Monday, April 29 until Friday, May 3, part of the High Street will be closed, and a one way road will be reversed.
Vehicles will be prohibited on the High Street from the junction with Chapel Street to the junction with George Street.
The one way system on Chapel Street from the junction with Victoria Street to the junction with the High Street will also be reversed during this period.
The closure comes as Wessex Water will be working in the area to repair the sewer.
The Traffic Regulation Order submitted by Somerset Council reads: "This Notice will come into operation on the 29th day of April 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum of 5 days.
"If the works cannot be completed during that period the Somerset Council may make a temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Act, to continue in force the provisions of this Notice for a further period.
"The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs."
