TIME is running out for rescued bats being cared for in East Huntspill to be released into the wild as the weather grows colder.
Bats at Secret World are hanging around waiting for drier weather to arrive before they can be returned back into the wild.
The rescue centre has received many bats suffering from the constant deluge of rain - many orphaned and adult bats that have been mostly underweight and often waterlogged have been given food and warmth.
A modified tent is used to temporarily house the bats, where they can fly around and exercise in preparation for their release.
Secret World founder Pauline Kidner said: “As summer draws to a close we are running out of time to release bats as the weather starts to get colder they often move to different roost sites, all we can do is anxiously wait for a break in the weather.”
