A FOLK singer from Brent Knoll has shown a glimpse of his upcoming ‘Songs of Somerset’ show in an exclusive performance for the Weekly News.
Timothy Dean will perform his unique programme of tunes and stories about the county's past at the Princess Theatre in Burnham-on-Sea on Wednesday, September 21.
The show will begin at 7:30pm and feature a selection of songs based on his intimate knowledge of Somerset's stories, mysteries, and legends, ranging from the prehistoric Cheddar Man to pirates and murders.
Profits from the ‘Songs of Somerset’ ticket sales will be donated to the Somerset Crisis Fund.
Tickets cost £13 and can be bought from the Princess Theatre's website.
Your Burnham and Highbridge Weekly News is the musical event's official media partner.
Ahead of the performance, Timothy performed his song ‘Fanny Fear’ exclusively for the Weekly News on the stage of the Princess Theatre.
This is what audiences can expect at ‘Songs of Somerset’ in September:
Timothy premiered ‘Songs of Somerset’ to a sell-out audience at Brent Knoll Parish Hall in April.
After the event, David Sturgess, secretary of Brent Knoll Community Shop Limited, said: “I’ve lived in Somerset for 30 years, and learned more about our county from Tim’s concert than I’d ever know before. It was a truly memorable evening.”
Timothy is a recognisable face in Brent Knoll as he is the village's postman and officially opened the community shop.
