Top sporting speaker, television football pundit and famous former football manager of legendary status, Ian Holloway, is to visit Cheddar’s Kings Theatre in February next year for an evening of fascinating stories and insights into his glittering career.
The hugely engaging Holloway has been involved as a player and manager at Bristol Rovers but the well-known sporting personality also enjoyed notable times spent in management at Queens Park Rangers (for whom he played in the Premier League), Plymouth Argyle, Leicester City, Blackpool (who had the great distinction of being taken to the Premier League in some style) and also Crystal Palace and Millwall.
The evening, which is to take place on Wednesday 15th February, is expected to be hugely popular with the local community and news on ticket sales will be announced shortly. Tickets will, however, be priced at £18 per person for the evening, which will commence at 7.30pm.
As an added attraction on the evening, the singer/songwriter Wade Merritt – who supported Toyah on her recent sell-out show at Frome’s Cheese and Grain - will also be appearing. The singer/songwriter has a warm tone and an ear for a carefully crafted song and has been a huge hit whenever and wherever he has performed.
It is possible that there will be other special guests on the evening, more of which will advised at the right time.
Organiser, former Cheddar FC secretary Alan Cooper, said: “I will be doing my utmost to ensure that everyone attending this event has a memorable evening and one that they will remember for a long time.
"I have arranged several events over the years, and it is likely that this one will be my last, and there is no-one I wanted to bring to Cheddar more than Ian Holloway. I am sure that he will be a great draw.”
