CORONATION Street fans could get their hands on an authentic piece of costume from the famous cobbles - and help a Highbridge-based charity at the same time.
The National Blind Childrens Society contacted Granada Television in Manchester recently and was astounded when it received an item of clothing worn by Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), together with certificate of authenticity.
Spokesman Margaret McDowell told the Weekly News soap fans now had the chance to bid for the item by telephone.
"The highest bid received by March 14 will become the proud owner of a prized piece of Corrie memorabilia," she said.
"The charity has already received one bid of £20 so bids over this amount will be accepted.
"Money raised will help the National Blind Childrens Society support children who are blind and partially sighted to achieve their educational and recreational goals."
Bid now by ringing 01278-764753, emailing margaret.mcdowell@nbcs.org.uk or visiting www.nbcs.org.uk.
