THE February meeting was very well attended with quite a few visitors. Bridget reported on the walkers and talkers. On January 20 on a very windy day they walked into Burnham, along the seafront, taking a break for coffee, before making their way back to Huntspill. A walk has been arranged for February in Catcott.
Janet reported on the spring show, planned for March 17 and Ann reported that the skittle team had played very well against the previous year's winners, Ashcott, losing by only 11-pins.
The group meeting is at Brean on March 24 and discussions were held and names taken for members wishing to attend.
The speaker, Mr Terry Stevens who was accompanied by his wife, was from the National Trust. He gave a very interesting talk plus slides on Tyntesfield House at Wraxall. The history ranged from the 1800s when the house was first built, to the present time, when the house was bought at auction by the Trust.
A chocolate raffle was held with everyone going home with a lovely bar each to enjoy. The next meeting is on March 1 with speaker Mr Skinner on the slave trade.
