BURNHAM schoolchildren looking for tips on how to look after their pets should look no further than a Brent Knoll garden centre.
The Pet and Aquatic Centre at Sanders GardenWorld is set to be the venue for a number of sessions on pet care and advice during February and March 2007 and has asked schools if they wish to bring groups of pupils to them for free.
Professional animal keeper Maria Fountain, who will be hosting the events, said: "I am keen to pass on the message to children that pets require a lot of care and attention and should not be taken home without proper research into their specific needs, but also that they can be rewarding and interesting companions.
"I hope that by talking to children I can help to dispel many of the myths that surround creatures such as snakes and help them to understand these often misrepresented animals better."
To find out more about the talks and workshops on offer or to arrange a time and date for pupils ring Colin Fountain at the Pet and Aquatic Centre at the garden centre via its main telephone number 01278-761111 by February 23.
