A SAUCY claim to fame was being investigated on Tuesday in Burnham by a BBC film crew, desperate to find out the origins of the phrase "marital aid".
The Balderdash and Piffle TV programme looks at the humble beginnings of unusual words and the term in question is recorded to have first appeared in the Weekly News' predecessor, the Burnham Gazette.
Town people were questioned on their recollection of the advert in the paper and presenter Victoria Coren even popped into the Weekly News office for some filming.
