HURRAY for Linda Britton. I totally agree with what she said in her letter, in particular about the tourists.
I for one dread the invasion each summer. Just because I live in Burnham it doesn't mean to say I have to like it when the tourists arrive. Yes, they are good for the town's economy but they bring misery to the locals.
The supermarkets can't cope with the volume of customers so the shelves are empty. There's even less places to park. The roads become clogged and trying to get through the High Street with a pushchair is a nightmare.
Also there always seems to be prangs on the motorway involving caravans.
I think Burnham ought to be named Birmingham-on-Sea in the summer.
If I could afford to move I would, but due to the crazy house prices these days I'm afraid I will have to suffer the invasion again and again.
