POLICE made dozens of arrests last week as part of Operation Relentless to cut vehicle crime in the Burnham area.
Officers made 50 arrests in the Avon and Somerset force area and in Somerset West there were eight arrests including apprehending a garage burglar, two for thefts from vehicles and a further two for stealing vehicles.
Police also handed out ice scrapers marked with the message 'Operation Relentless on Vehicle Crime - Remove it, Lock it, Keep it'.
Chief superintendent John Long said: "During cold mornings, we hope drivers will find the ice scrapers a big help but also remind them of the need to follow simple crime prevention advice to keep their vehicle safe."
