A HOTEL in Highbridge was forced to close on Friday night (February 16) after a "disturbance" outside to which the police were called.
Officers say they were called to Highbridge Hotel in Huntspill Road at around 9pm but stressed no offences had actually been committed.
Avon and Somerset Police spokesman Wayne Baker said the pub had been closed at 9.48pm, without the force having to use any of its powers.
"It appeared to be a disagreement amongst friends," he said. "The pub was closed voluntarily by the pub itself."
The management of the Highbridge Hotel, which has now reopened, were contacted by the Weekly News, but declined to comment.
