The standard bearer had attended the area standard bearer competition at the weekend so Mrs Francis presented Mrs Webb with a pot plant for all the work she puts in as the standard bearer, training every week etc. She was thanked for her hard work and her dedication.
Mrs Pam Whitehead was the speaker for the evening and she gave members a very humorous insight into the Queen's garden party she had attended with her husband. Members were thrilled when Pam wore the suit and hat she had worn on the occasion. Mrs Joy Chandler gave a warm vote of thanks to Mrs Whitehead for such an interesting account of her special day.
Room competition for a hat was well entered with over half the members in attendance entering into the competition. This was kindly judged by Mrs Bell with winners being Mrs Thorne, 2 Mrs Webb, 3 Mrs Long. It seemed Ladies Day at Ascot had arrived early.
Room raffle was won by Mrs Davey and room hostess was Mrs J. Cavill. The evening closed with a welcome cup of tea and biscuits with a reminder of the next coffee morning on Wednesday March 7 from 10.30-11.30am.
