A FOOTBALL tournament for players with disabilities was hosted by Highbridge's King Alfred School recently - and scored with the message that "ability counts".
The Somerset FA organised the South West Regional Ability Counts tournament, and teams from as far away as Plymouth, Bristol and Exeter took part.
A spokesman said: "The tournament is a pan-disability tournament contested by Ability Counts clubs from across the south-west region.
"Teams are divided into a competition relative to their ability, the three competitions are known as the Premiership, Championship and League.
"Each month a county in the region hosts a monthly tournament when all of the teams play each other over the course of the day.
"Results from each monthly tournament are then used to determine an overall winner for the season.
"Somerset choose the excellent facilities at King Alfred School as its venue, and after an initial worry when everyone arrived to find a blanket of frost over the field, the tournament took place in excellent conditions on a glorious winter's day."
