Over half a million has been awarded to the council.
SEDGEMOOR District Council has been awarded £513,777 from government in recognition of its excellent business development.
The award is one of the highest for a district council across the country.
Councillor Ann Fraser, portfolio holder for economic development and tourism said: "Sedgemoor District Council, as community leaders, will continue to build on the fantastic success of improving the district.
"We work closely with the business community to encourage inward investment and are delighted that all our efforts have been recognised."
