TRAFFIC is slow on the M5 southbound near Burnham-on-Sea after a car fire halted traffic.
Firefighters were called at 2.14pm today (April 6) to reports of a fire between J22 and J23 on the M5.
One fire appliance from Burnham attended the incident.
Upon arrival crews used breathing apparatus and compressed air foam to extinguish the fire.
The vehicle was severely damaged.
Two lanes were closed on the road but they have since reopened.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
