A NEW banner has been made for the 'Save Highbridge Library' campaign thanks to a generous donation.
The Taunton Area Activists' Committee of Unite agreed yesterday (February 16) to donate £100 to pay for a new banner for the campaign.
The banner was designed by James Cameron, a member of Highbridge Unite's Community branch and commissioned by Brett Sparkes, Unite's community regional officer.
Heathcliffe Pettifer and Dorothy Fogge, officers at Unite, said: "The decision to fund the banner was unanimous.
"With delegates from some of Somerset's largest workplaces, as well as our Unite Community Branch, our activists have showed their commitment to supporting worthwhile community causes, and long may this continue.
"A wholly positive aspect of today's trades unionism that may surprise some but which in fact has been a part of our culture for decades."
