A TEENAGER is giving up her time to help young people to keep up with their school work during lockdown.
Caitlin Hall, a former student at The King Alfred School, has set up an Instagram page, yourfreetutor, to offer free study materials to young people learning from home during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 16-year-old said she was inspired to launch the Instagram page by her sisters asking for help with their studies.
“I was constantly being asked by my sisters and friends for help with their school work as I have just finished Year 11 didn’t have any to complete,” Caitlin said.
“It got me thinking, other than my close friends and family how other many family’s in the area need homework help.
“I decided to start an Instagram page and started to upload helpful posters, revision cards and other useful things to help people.
“I only started it a few weeks ago but I have has such a positive response so far and I have seen a real demand for study materials.
“A lot of young people really struggle to afford study materials and I want to do my best to help them.”
Caitlin said the page has been so popular that she has enlisted the help of two friends to help print and distribute study materials to people across the UK.
“We are sending free study materials to people across the UK and only ask for money for postage,” Caitlin said.
“I have no plans to stop and want to continue helping people through this tough time.”
