A LORRY has overturned on the M5 between Taunton and Wellington.
All traffic is being held on the southbound carriageway of the motorway after the incident, between junction 25 for Taunton and Taunton Deane Services.
"All traffic is being held while Highways assess the scene," said a Highways England spokesperson.
"The weather at the scene is extremely poor."
Somerset is currently being battered by Storm Francis - with a weather warning in place due to high winds.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the county - and across the south of the UK.
As well as high winds - including coastal gales - rain is continuing to hit the county, said a forecaster.
"The rain clears east by the late morning, leaving generally cloudy conditions with some showers, although there may be some bright spells later," the forecaster said.
"Remaining very windy with gales likely."
Tonight is expected to be dry and cloudy, although 'unseasonably strong' winds remain, they added.
Temperatures could still reach around 20C, dropping to 14C overnight.
