TWO of Sedgemoor's parks have been named as among the very best in the UK by the Green Flag Award Scheme.
Marine Cove Gardens in Burnham-on-Sea and Apex Park in Highbridge have both received the accolade.
The prestigious Green Flag Award is the mark of a quality park or green space.
The international award, which is now in its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
A spokesman for Sedgemoor District Council said: “We have been awarded Green Flag Award status for these much-loved parks for a number of years now but it is especially appreciated this year which has be a challenging one for so many people using and tending these parks.
“The award honours the staff and volunteers who work so hard to keep our parks looking good. We are extremely proud and grateful to those who have helped us retain the award. The Covid-19 pandemic has reminded us just how much everyone values our local parks and green spaces”.
