FIRFIGHTERS battled to minimise damage to an adjoining house in a blaze that destroyed a garage earlier today (Friday).
Two fire engines were sent from Burnham-on-Sea Fire Station to the incident in Palmers Close shortly after 11am.
The garage, attached to the two-storey home, was well ablaze when crews arrived on the scene.
They worked to "extinguish and prevent escalation".
The fire was out within about an hour.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the fire had spread to the fascia and guttering of the property.
They added: "The garage is 100 per cent damaged by fire, 10 per cent damage to the rest of the property and 50 per cent smoke damaged to the property."
