THERE was a good turnout for a beach clean event in Burnham-on-Sea last week.
Wednesday (June 2) saw people gather at Maddocks Slade (off Berrow Road), with picking sticks, gloves and bags which had been provided by the council.
The event was organised by the U3A (University of the Third Age) Burnham branch, and they welcomed both members and visitors to join them.
U3A is an organisation dedicated to providing friendship and shared interests for retired and semi-retired people.
GETTING STUCK IN: Participants in the event
The Burnham branch offers a wide variety of groups, allowing people to learn languages, play board games and table tennis, and enjoy music, arts and crafts.
Most of its meetings are held at the Community Centre in Berrow Road, and more information can be found here.
