A FOOD festival planned for this weekend has been cancelled.
Sunshine is not on the menu for tomorrow (July 25), so the Little Eat:Wells event has been called off.
The event was due to be held on Cathedral Green, but has nowbeen rescheduled for September 5, due to poor weather forecast by the Met Office.
"But you'll not have to wait long for another food and drink spectacular," said a spokesperson for Mendip District Council (MDC), which has commissioned the events.
"The next Little eat:Festival is in Shepton Mallet's Market Place on Sunday, August 8, 10am-4pm.
"Do come along and support your high street."
MDC partnered with the multi award-winning eat:Festivals team to deliver fresh produce events in Street, Glastonbury, Wells and Shepton Mallet during July and August.
The council commissioned the events using monies from the European Regional Development Fund.
