A WOMAN trapped in her overturned BMW in a water-filled ditch was rescued by firefighters.
Fire crews were sent to the incident between East Huntspill and Woolavington at around 6.15pm yesterday (Monday, August 9).
Two fire engines from Bridgwater and a water rescue unit from Exmouth were moblisied.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Bridgwater crews managed to locate the BMW which was upside down in the ditch and rescued the casualty from the vehicle using a triple extension ladder and glass breaking tools.
"Ambulance were requested for the lady who was suffering from scratches and bruises and the effects of being submerged in cold water.
"Exmouth crews were returned as not required."
