FIRE crews are still battling a blaze involving 500 hay bales in Somerset.
The fire, inside a barn at a farm in Brean, near Burnham-on-Sea, broke out yesterday evening (August 18).
Residents were advice to avoid Uphill beach and keep their windows and doors closed.
There were 12 fire engines, from both Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue and Avon Fire Rescue, at the scene last night.
They used several water jets to extinguish the fire.
"We have been at the scene throughout the night," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
"We currently have three engines there keeping a watching brief in case any hotspots flare up."
