A FESTIVE shopping event in Somerset raised more than £1,000 for charity on Sunday, November 21.
The Shop for a Cure for Christmas event at Berrow Village Hall was a huge success and raised £1,357.87 for Breast Cancer Now.
Somerset Breast Cancer Now was a group founded by Christine Piper (a breast cancer survivor) more than 20 years ago.
Christine sadly passed away from breast cancer in 2016, and now her daughter Holly Macbeth, has taken on the role as chairperson.
"What a truly brilliant amazing day," Holly said.
"You have blown us all away yet again. We truly didn’t know what to expect from today and we’re just happy for the event to go ahead.
"But yet again you didn’t let us down and you came and supported this amazing charity.
"A huge thanks to our stall holders who make this event so special and unique we couldn’t do it without them.
"And to our amazing Dave Englefield from Sedgemoor FM for spinning the tunes and plugging all the stalls.
"We can’t wait to be back next year and my word this years event is going to take some beating.
"So on behalf of all the Somerset Breast Cancer now group, we send you so much love and thanks for helping us raise this crazy amount of money,
"Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, stay safe and here’s to many more events in 2022."
