MEMBERS of the Penguins over 60s swimming club settled down for their annual dinner at the Batch Country Hotel.
The previous two years have been difficult, due to the various covid restrictions, but regular swimming sessions were re-instated last year, and members regularly attend every Tuesday at 9.30 am, for the club’s private session, in Burnham’s swimming pool (BOSpool).
Last Wednesday, during a short after-dinner speech, committee and founder member of the club Terry Cornelius remarked that the club was now in its 40th year.
Pete Manning, Penguin’s committee chair, added that the club’s forthcoming AGM was booked for Tuesday, April 26 at 11am in Burnham’s community centre. Mr Manning said: “We have been looked after well by the Batch staff, so I suggest that we all demonstrate our appreciation.”
