PUPILS at Mark First & Pre-School CE Academy learnt about the importance of recycling in assemblies and workshops this week.

The school, which is part of the Wessex Learning Trust, welcomed the Carymoor Environmental Trust to run events for key stage one and key stage two learners.

After a whole-school assembly, younger children were virtually joined by Wigglebert Worm to learn about composting, while older children in the school took part in a virtual workshop called Fantastic Plastic.

Mrs Joanna Collyer, head of the school, said: "All the children thoroughly enjoyed the morning.

"They showed that they knew a lot about recycling already and also developed their understanding further to help the environment and reduce the amount of waste that we throw out."
