THE M5 is closed northbound between Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea 'due to an overturned tanker and a spillage of milk'.
The motorway is closed between junction 23 (Bridgwater North) and junction 22 (Burnham-On-Sea).
A live update on the AA Route Planner website, reported at 12:30pm, said: "Road closed and queueing traffic due to rolled over tanker and spillage of milk on M5 Northbound between J23 A39 (Bridgwater North) and J22 (Burnham-on-Sea).
"Detour in operation via the A38 through Hunstspill and Highbridge to rejoin at J22."

Other road closures currently live on Travel Somerset's website are:
- The A3066 is blocked both ways with slow traffic due to a fallen tree between Silver Street (Misterton) and Downclose Lane (North Perrott).
- The A39 is closed both ways closed with slow traffic due to a fallen lamp post in the road and a fallen tree between Porlock Road (Minehead) and Redpost Cross (Porlock).
- The A396 is closed both ways closed due to a fallen tree between B3224 (Rest (Wheddon Cross) and A396 / Vicarage Court (Timberscombe).
