ENTHUSIASTIC lifeboat volunteers are busy preparing for their forthcoming open day this coming Easter Sunday.
The event on April 17 is programmed, between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm, and is an ideal way for interested members of the public to view the hi-tech life-saving equipment in regular use at Burnham-on-Sea.
Admission to the station is free of charge, and there will be other activities as well as looking at the lifeboats and tractors.
Anticipated activities include tombola, throw-line games, plus others, and meeting the RNLI mascot, Stormy Stan.
This year, an added attraction will be performances by ‘The well-known Barnacle Buoys’ who will be performing three sets throughout the day.
Paul Preston, RNLI Shore crew member and event co-organiser, said: "Bring in your kids and take a photo of them with Stormy Stan, or the inflatable Shannon lifeboat. We are a family station, and hopefully in tune with what keeps children amused."
