DRIVERS planning to use the M5 between Weston-super-Mare and Bridgwater/Burnham-on-Sea overnight could be affected by planned roadworks this week.
The southbound carriageway will be closed “for gantry works” between junction 22 (Weston-super-Mare) and junction 23 (Bridgwater North) for two nights.
The closure will be in place between 10:01pm tonight (Wednesday, May 4) and 6am tomorrow, according to National Highways.
The carriageway will be closed again the following night for the same period of time (10:01pm on Thursday until 6am on Friday).
A diversion will be in place via the A38.
A National Highways spokesperson said: “If you are travelling in the early morning, please note that your route may be impacted by closures starting the evening before.”
Other planned M5 closures will be in place between junctions 11 and 10 (northbound) and junctions nine to 11 (southbound).
