MOOSE once again demonstrates its commitment to helping good causes.
Cheques have been presented to multiple recipients at a recent regular group meeting, plus two large donations presented at the March lodge meeting to Dorset and Somerset Air ambulance (£500), and the Freewheelers charity (£1000).
Moose (or Moose International lodge 123) has been in Burnham for nearly 90 years, but like many other organisations, is undergoing change and they have become ‘One moose’.
Making the change will see the ladies of the group become one with the men.
With the merging of the two groups, ladies will be able to become officers of the 123 group (Lodge 123), with equal rights in all areas. The existing ladies’ circle will continue to function as a separate unit, in a similar manner to the Moose legion (Or the second degree of service), which raises funds for Moose welfare.
Money is raised throughout the year, by collections, coffee mornings, and other initiatives.
During the April lodge meeting, Alan Flower took over as the first Burnham-on-Sea Moose group President from Governor Chris Kingston-White.
Chris Kingston-White said: “Tonight we welcome and embrace One Moose to our future development.”
