BURNHAM-ON-SEA'S lifeboat station has received a £1,300 donation from the town's Haven Holiday Park after a weekend of fundraising earlier this month.
The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) is the holiday company's charity partner.
The company has been working to support the charity's Mayday fundraising campaign across its network of 41 UK holiday parks.
Haven parks across the country hosted fundraising activities between Friday, May 6 and Sunday, May 8 to go towards their individual targets.
The Burnham-on-Sea resort raised £1,300 with a carnival-themed weekend featuring a hook-a-boat raffle, a tombola with prizes including kitchen appliances, a soak the crew challenge, and other fun activities.
The money will help the crew at Burnham-on-Sea's lifeboat station, which operates two inshore boats.
Local businesses in the area contributed prizes for the games and activities.
Contributing business included Crafty Comforts, a handmade gift shop on the high street, Costa Coffee, and the Ritz Cinema.
Michael Beck, Haven's general manager at Burnham, said: “It was amazing to be a part of the fundraising day at Burnham, we love working with the RNLI and supporting them on park.
“We raised an incredible amount over the weekend and it was great to see everyone involved from guests to team members and owners.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our work with the RNLI throughout the rest of the year and seeing how much more we can raise.”
Haven guests, owners, and team members across the country have raised £29,159.25 for the RNLI.
It has the target of raising £125,000 by the end of the year to support the lifesaving charity.
Haven welcomes 2.5 million people to its sites each year and can continue to keep holidaymakers safe with the help of the RNLI.
