THE Highbridge Youth Theatre group put on a show for a delighted audience at St Mary's Church Green on the bank holiday Thursday.
The ‘Queen's Pic-Knickers’ event was designed and created by the young people involved, supported by artistic director Selina Keedwell.
The event featured a performance of The Queen's Knickers based on a 1993 children's book of the same name by Nicholas Allan.
There was also a picnic and cream teas supplied by Chatterbox Café to help bring the community together.
After the performance, Selina said: “It was so lovely to see the young people play and have fun performing.
“There were some brilliant designs of the Queen's Knickers by the members and their families and a wonderful community spirit!”
Highbridge Youth Theatre has a group for children aged between six and 11 and a company for young people aged 12 to 18.
It offers “plenty of opportunity to get creative, learn new skills and make new friends” in weekly sessions held at Churchfield Church School in Burnham Road, Highbridge.
New members are always welcome with no experience necessary.
The group is put on in association with Somerset Youth Theatre.
