POLICE officers will carry out high-visibility patrols in Burnham-on-Sea this evening (August 31) after receiving reports of antisocial behaviour.
The patrols will take place in the Manor Gardens area, near Manor Park and the cemetery.
An Avon and Somerset Police Sedgemoor spokesperson said: “This evening we are carrying out high-visibility patrols in Burnham, particularly focusing on Manor Gardens area, following reports of antisocial behaviour from members of the public.
“We will continue the patrols and offer reassurance to the public.”
Antisocial behaviour can be targeted at a specific individual or group, cause annoyance or suffering to a community, or affect public spaces or buildings.
It can include rowdy or inconsiderate behaviour, littering, street drinking, or nuisance noise.
Avon and Somerset Police's Sedgemoor policing team attended Burnham's Emergency Services Day on Sunday, where PCSOs spoke to community members.
PCSOs have also marked over 100 bikes and added them to a national register in the local area to deter thefts.
