THE route of Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea Carnival has been revealed today (October 27).
The event, which will be the carnival’s 74th annual parade, will take place on Monday, November 7 at 7.30pm and the procession’s route has now been announced.
The Platinum Jubilee cart that joined the parade in London for the Queen's Jubilee will also be going through Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea Carnival.
A message from the carnival official Facebook page read: “The carnival procession starts at the traffic lights in Love Lane beside Burnham’s Tesco supermarket and proceeds along Love Lane to the Esso filling station.
“Then, it proceeds to Manor Road, taking a left into Victoria Street, through the High Street, and along Marine Drive to the finish point at the entrance to Burnham Holiday Village.”
A spokesperson added: “This year we are offering Tap and Donate along with the traditional collection buckets and carts, roads close from 6pm.
“We are looking for a couple more charities to come and collect on the night of carnival and run some of the car parks. In return, your charity/organisation will receive a percentage of the amount you collect. Contact Annalee New for more information.
“We are looking for more helpers to come forward to serve as marshals at this autumn’s event.
“Volunteers need to be aged 18 or over and would be needed on carnival day from 5pm-11pm to ensure the event goes ahead safely. Food is provided. If you can help us out please contact Bradley on 07443571181 or email bradley.Loveridge@hboscarnival.org.
“Thank you, we hope you enjoy the carnival this year.”
