AN INVESTIGATION is underway after a man died in a single-car collision on the M5 this morning (Saturday, November 19).
Emergency services were called at around 3.45am following the incident close to junction 19 (Gordano).
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “One man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital, where sadly he died. His family has been informed and will receive support from specially trained officers.
“No other injuries have been reported.

The road is shut s/bound between J19-20 (Gordano and Clevedon).

“Enquiries into the collision are now underway.”
The M5 remained closed all morning between J19 (Portishead) and J20 (Clevedon).
