THE Bristol Area MG Owners’ Club near Winscombe runs a bar called The Brunel Run for many years.
The club has used the premises of the Bristol Children’s Help Society at Barton Camp since 2007. All funds raised then go towards this Society, to help give children time away from the stresses of home life.
The Brunel Run was held again in September of 2022 and collected a total of £2,500, which was presented to the Society at their February Club Night.
Bristol Children’s Help Society offers residential and outdoor learning experiences for children whose personal circumstances have significantly depleted their life opportunities.
This could be as a result of a wide variety of situations including disability, poverty, parental drug or alcohol misuse, their own status (including being in care or a carer), entering the UK as a refugee, bereavement, or mental health issues.
The Society aims to promote aspiration, self-determination, and resilience through a range of team building activities in a rural residential setting in North Somerset.
