NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to four of Somerset’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
Local authority food safety officers give businesses a rating from five to zero, which is displayed at their premises and online.
The ratings help consumers decided where to buy and eat food by providing clear information about businesses’ hygiene standards.
The following ratings have been given to pubs and takeaways in Burnham-on-Sea, Brean and Bridgwater:
Pubs, bars and nightclubs
The following ratings have been given to two pubs, bars or nightclubs:
• Rated 5: The Lighthouse at Highbridge Road, Burnham On Sea; rated on May 18
The Lighthouse Inn is first recorded in the 1851 Census, and has been serving local residents and visitors to the area ever since – almost 170 years.
• Rated 4: The Place Pizza at South Road, Brean; rated on May 15
Takeaways. The Place Pizza is a Biritish bar, Gastropub which provides Vegetarian Friendly, Vegan Options.
And two ratings have been handed to takeaways:
• Rated 5: Just Desserts at 14 College Street, Burnham-On-Sea is an American, Cafe, British specialising in desserts of all kinds. It was rated on May 18
• Rated 5: Scoops at 77 St John Street, Bridgwater; rated on May 9
