A POPULAR Burnham-on-Sea café is aiming to raise around £2,000 to install a community defibrillator.
Café 33, located on Weston Road, is hosting an afternoon tea event this September to help fund the installation of a piece of life saving medical equipment.
The café is part of Diamond Farm Holiday Park and is much loved by holiday-makers and locals alike.
Its convenient location on cycle route 33 means it also attracts commuters by bike and foot.
As part of the cafe's charity annual fundraiser, it was decided that a defibrillator would be beneficial for the community, adding to those already located in Brean.
Some of Burnham's defibrillators are located in areas which are only open for the holiday season, meaning they aren't available for use at all times.
Café 33's defibrillator will be available 24/7 all year round.
As part of the fundraising efforts, a community event will take place at the café on September 21, costing £15 per person.
Included in the price will be tasty sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee, and the option for alcoholic beverages.
"Pop along to meet us," said Lisa, who runs the café.
"Meet the locals, have some fun, have a laugh, and raise some money for a well deserved cause which could save someone's life."
Those wishing to attend the afternoon tea event should phone 07973 301618 in order to book their tables.
For those who cannot attend, Café 33 hope to host more events over the course of September in order to raise money for the essential piece of medical equipment.
