A POPULAR holiday destination in Burnham-on-Sea has been named as one of just two finalists for a prestigious award.
Sandy Glade Holiday Park in Berrow has a great chance to win Holiday Park of the Year at the Somerset Tourism Awards.
The awards cover all businesses across Somerset, Bath, and Bristol, so to be named as a finalist is a huge achievement in itself.
Part of John Fowler Holidays, Sandy Glade provides families with a fun-filled beachside holiday location.
The holiday park boasts plenty of green space for outdoor activities, as well as a large, indoor pool with jets and fountains, and an adventure playground.
The Berrow holiday resort also features an evening clubhouse with live entertainment, all a stone's throw from the sea thanks to its convenient location on Coast Road.
The winner of the Holiday Park of the Year award will be announced at the Somerset Tourism Awards ceremony on November 30 at The Bristol Hotel.
Winning businesses will have the opportunity to advance to the South West Awards in March 2024, and could potentially represent Bristol Bath and Somerset at the National VisitEngland Awards.
Kathryn Davis, Director of Tourism at VisitWest, said: “Congratulations to all those who have made the shortlist.
"The quality of businesses working within the visitor economy in this area is exceptional and I am proud that we get to work with them, inspiring us to be better and match their high standards.
"The standard of our winners in recent years has meant we have had six businesses progress to national finals, including two gold, and it all starts here.”
Awards Director, Nell Barrington, said: “We were thrilled with the increase and quality of entries this year which has made it really tough for our team of volunteer judges.
"Good luck to the finalists and congratulations to them all.”
