A CANCER charity based in Somerset celebrated an incredible total for 2023 with a 'fabulous' ball in a luxury hotel.
Those living on the coast or in the West Somerset area will be familiar with the Somerset Breast Cancer Now charity for their frequent fundraiser events in the Burnham-on-Sea and Berrow areas.
Just last month, their Christmas market raised over £1,000.
As we reach the end of the calendar year, the charity has celebrated its grand total of £11,600 with a ball at the Batch Country House hotel in Weston-super-Mare.
Holly MacBeth, Group Chairperson at Somerset Breast Cancer Now, said: "Over 280 guests all enjoyed a fantastic evening with stunning food provided by the Batch Country House hotel who always work so hard for us every year, followed by a live auction, raffle charity casino and fabulous live music from the amazing Six Machine band.
"All guests were also treated to a very generous goody bag from Elemis.
"Huge thanks to our guests who have helped us raise a massive £11.6k for Somerset Breast Cancer Now.
"We know times are hard for everyone right now, especially anyone involved in fundraising for charities, so we are beyond thrilled with the total raised.
"We must thank James, Anna, Abbie & the team at the Batch hotel, the band Six Machine, DJ Dave for spinning his tunes, our casino provided by the Lions in Weston-super-Mare, our photographer Phil for capturing these magical moments, and all our auction and raffle donations.
"None of this would be possible to host this event without such community support, we are very lucky to always get backed by our loyal supporters in any way.
"Our next year's ball is already booked and table reservations are already being made.
"If you are interested in supporting the group in anyway or attending next years ball on the 7th December 2024 please email bcnowsomerset@gmail.com
"We would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and here's to another great year of fundraising in 2024."
