A NEW drive-thru branch of Starbucks could be built in Highbridge as plans have been submitted to Somerset Council.
KMW Trading Limited and Cobra Coffee Limited have applied to build 'a drive-thru coffee shop and associated works' on Oak Tree Farm, Bristol Road, Edithmead, Highbridge.
The land is set to the east of the A38, spanning approximately 0.6 hectares, and is otherwise known as Oak Tree Business Park.
Speaking on the proposed access to the new Starbucks, the applicant wrote: "The plot will be served by an access point off the internal estate road linking to the A38, leading to a car park and the drive-thru lane.
"The primary access into the unit is from the car park, into the northern elevation of the building. Servicing will also take place within the car park, with a service yard area provided to the east of the unit."
If plans are approved, there will be a total of 19 parking spaces on the site, which includes two disabled bays, and two electric vehicle charging points.
It is proposed that the building itself would be made from render and timber cladding, with PCC metal framed doors and windows.
