The average house sale in Burnham and Highbridge has taken around 138 days since the start of the pandemic, according to new figures.
Data from Property Solvers' speed of sale tool shows that sellers in the TA8 and TA9 postcodes are enduring lengthy waits from listing to final sale.
The tool revealed it's taking an average of 19.71 weeks to sell a property.
This was according to analysis of 97 property sales across the area between February 2023 and February 2024.
In the TA9 postcode, home sellers experienced a 138-day wait, while their counterparts in the TA8 postcode found sales finalised on average within 119 days, showing variation within the region.
Ruban Selvanayagam of Property Solvers said: "Whilst we’re starting to see some noticeable improvements into 2024, the continued pressures on the mortgage sector and buyers' ability to secure the right kind of finance has resulted in delays with sales completing.
"Combined with the recognised ‘snail pace’ nature of the conveyancing process, it’s likely that these trends are likely to remain for some time."
