Burnham-based golfers Mimi and Patience Rhodes have been selected to represent England at this year’s European Team Championships.
Sisters Mimi and Patience will make up a third of the six-woman England squad that will be travelling to Spain next week to play in European Ladies’ Team Championship.
Mimi, 22, and Patience, 20, play their golf at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club and have been selected for the team after both having stellar 2023 seasons.
Mimi got six top-10 finishes in 2023, including winning the Campeonato Internacional Absoluto de Andalucia in Spain, finished 3rd in the South American Amateur in January, and finished 10th at NCAA Division 1National Championships in May.
Meanwhile Patience won the St Rule Trophy in 2023, helped Europe to the Patsy Hankins, finished top-10 at the South American Amateur, and placed 3rd at the Dr Donnis Thompson Invitational in March.
Mimi, Patience and their team will be in Spain from July 9th-13th, playing at the North Course of Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo.
They will be looking to continue England Ladies' illustrious history at the event having won the competition 12 times including recent victories in 2016, 2017, 2021, and 2022.
Also making up the team are Jess Baker, Rosie Belsham, Lily Hirst, and Nellie Ong, who will travel to Spain alongside the Mens’, Boys’ and Girls’ teams who will all be competing at the championships.
