PLANS submitted to Somerset Council seek permission to build a large new industrial unit and car park near Highbridge.

Commercial Space Solutions Plus Ltd has applied to construct an industrial unit comprising of ten individual units and an associated car park with 100 spaces at Mill Batch Farm Industrial Estate, in East Brent.

The proposed unit totals 1170 square-metres of internal space, and it is planned that it would be split into ten individual bays, with an additional storage area also among the plans.

The applicant hopes the huge car park - which would be laid with tarmac - would be utilised by both new and existing tenants at the industrial estate.

There are also plans to install solar panels on the roof of the building as a means of 'renewable energy supplies to support and increase all electric development'.

The applicant added: "The proposed industrial unit has been designed to reflect the existing buildings on site and it is therefore considered to be in keeping with existing uses.

"The supporting parking area for existing and new tenants enables the continued growth of the business and has been suitably placed to provide access across the site."
