Bakkavor Desserts Highbridge is marking five years of backing the Moorland Community Hub.

Bakkavor Desserts has been a key provider of sweet treats for weekly events like Wednesday's 'Off the page' and the Friday 'Lunch club'.

Currently, in the peak of summer, the community's focus is on fundraising, and Bakkavor staff have been consistently supplying desserts to be enjoyed at the Burnham Moorland Community Centre for residents.

Whether they are alone or they just need to enjoy time with others, these weekly dessert donations bring some sweetness to their lives.

In addition to previously supporting the Moorland Community Hub with past events such as the King's coronation, a new milestone is soon to be reached: on July 24, Bakkavor Highbridge's employee forum has been invited to attend the 'off the page' event.

They plan to plan even better things for the community, while also witnessing the positive influence their support for the hub has had.

Producing more than 700,000 cheesecakes per week, Bakkavor Desserts is also a major employer in the area, with more than 540 staff on its payroll.

Faye Wright from Bakkavor Desserts in Highbridge said: "We take great pride at Bakkavor in supporting our local community.

"To see how our donations of cakes and desserts uplifts and delights people is something really special.

"To add a cherry on top to a perhaps lonely or mundane week for some is so important, and to be at the centre of providing support to such an integral part of the community feels wholesome and right."
