FOLLOWING a successful debut in 2023, Pride-on-Sea is set to make a welcomed return to Highbridge this weekend.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 27, and will begin with a pride march from Highbridge railway station at 10:30am, with pick up points at Apex park and Bay View Café, culminating at The Manor Gardens.

The main event will be held in Manor Gardens from 12:00pm until 6:00pm, featuring appearances from West Country acts such as Corky, Ryder Emcee, Steve M, On the Case, and drag performances by Nicholas Hoare, Jolene Dover and Aida H Dee.

The event also plays host to a range of stalls, food vendors, kids activity area and a Drag Queen Story Hour.

Festival director Ruth Ackroyd said: “We’re thrilled to be back in Burnham and Highbridge for our second annual pride event.

"We have an exciting range of acts taking to the stage so it’s definitely going to be a day to remember.

“It’s no secret that pride is all about celebrating our differences and the things that bring us together.

"However, it’s also a protest, and we must not forget the challenges our community continues to face in an ever more polarised world.

"This is why striking out and celebrating pride is more important now than ever before.

“Come and join us on July 27. Bring your family and friends, make a day of it, experience some amazing talent and get down to some Pride-tastic beats.
