A GROUP of dedicated volunteers from Bakkavor Desserts in Highbridge have taken time out of their busy schedules to support the local community.

In the lead-up to the August Bank Holiday, the group took part in litter-picking efforts at Apex Park and a clean-up at Burnham beach, contributing to the upkeep of popular local destinations.

The Bakkavor team aimed to ensure that the local beaches continue to be safe and welcoming for both residents and wildlife.

In addition to these environmental efforts, Bakkavor’s Highbridge team continue to support their community with weekly donations of fresh food to the Moorland Trust Community Hall.

These donations provide essential support to local residents, many of whom rely on the hall for social interactions and meals.

Jinny Dudbridge, senior HR business manager at Bakkavor Desserts, said: “Projects like local beach cleans, litter picking in the park, and donating food to local causes are all part of our broader commitment to sustainability.

“On behalf of the management team, we are so proud to have colleagues who volunteer their time locally and want to go the extra mile to support the vibrancy and wellbeing of our local community.”
