Highbridge based company Engineered Fabrication Solutions, or EFS, will be hosting a charity football match later this month in memory of one of its longest-term employees.

Steve Cavill was a much-loved member of the EFS team having worked for the company for more than 25 years until he sadly passed away after his battle with cancer on August 22nd, 2023.

In fact, he was such a part of the woodwork there that he pre-dated the company itself, having worked for previous related companies such as Wilsham Quick and Cooper B Line.

Steve was also a football fanatic, and his old company will now attempt to repay his commitment in some way by honouring his legacy with a memorial football match, which will also be used to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The match will see workers from EFS take on a team made of workers at neighbouring Highbridge company Cases Ltd at the sports pavilion in Pawlett, Steve’s hometown.

Steve’s justgiving page can be found here for donations, which have already surpassed the target amount of £500 with two days still to go before a ball is kicked.

There are also sponsor forms circulating both companies' factories and Cases have also raised £400 which will be added to the total donations.

The takes place on Friday September 20th, kick-off 6:30pm, at Pawlett Pavilion, Bridgwater, TA6 4SB, with friends, family, and supporters all welcome to come along and celebrate
